HPE server product lines that implement norms from the OpenCompute Project ( OCP ) community Modular Hardware Systems ( MHS ) may require longer boot time, after the replacement of either Datacenter Secure Module ( DC-SCM ) or Host Processor Module (HPM). This is applicable only for the Modular Hardware System (MHS) included in the ProLiant DL380a Gen12 servers and the ProLiant Compute XD230 server that have field replaceable Datacenter Secure Module ( DC-SCM ) and Host Processor Module (HPM). Replacement of either DC-SCM or HPM requires synchronization to complete between DC-SCM and HPM during first attempt to boot the server after the replacement. This first server boot time may take approximately 30 minutes.
Any of the following servers: HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen12 HPE ProLiant Compute XD230 HPE ProLiant Compute DL340 Gen12 HPE ProLiant Compute DL320 Gen12
There is currently no workaround. This will happen only during the first attempt to cold boot the server after the replacement of MHS or DC-SCM. There is no other manual action to be taken during this process since the synchronization across MHS and DC-SCM is automatically performed. This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available.
