HPE Service Pack for ProLiant can be installed onto a USB Key as a bootable SPP USB Key; starting with SPP 2022.09.01 and up to the current SPP release 2024.09.00, the SPP202x.0x USB key will not boot on HPE Gen10 Plus servers configured to boot in legacy boot mode.When attempting to boot on a Gen10 Plus server, the following error message will be encountered:"Attempting to boot From USB Drivekey (C:) SYSLINUX 3.75 2009-04-16 EBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2009 H. Peter Anvin et al Could not find kernel image: linux"
Any SPP202x.0x USB key used in any HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus server configured to boot in Legacy Boot mode.
As a workaround, use the iLO 5 Virtual media to boot the SPP ISO image. Refer toVirtual media IRC featuresin the HPE iLO 5 User Guide for more information on mounting an ISO image using the Remote Console feature.This advisory will be updated when more information is available.
