Certain Gen10 Plus servers may fail with an uncorrectable PCIe bus error, which may cause the system to stop responding. The Integrated Management Log (IML) will have entries similar to the following. Critical,160,63839,0x0014,System Error,0x0005,Hardware,02/09/2023 16:48:56,313: Unrecoverable I/O Error has occurred. System Firmware will log additional details in a separate IML message entry if possible. Critical,160,63847,0x0008,PCI Bus,0x0002,Hardware,02/09/2023 16:49:00,314: Uncorrectable PCI Express Error Detected. [UNKNOWN] 0 (Segment 0x0, Bus 0x1, Device 0x0, Function 0x2). Uncorrectable Error Status: 0x14000 ACTION: Update the firmware of the failing device. If the issue persists, replace the device. Servers experiencing this failure will match the following parameters. These parameters are in bold in the text above. The "uncorrectable error status" value of 0x14000 must be displayed. The Bus number 1 and Device number 0 of the device generating the error must be an exact match. The function number could be 0, 1, 2, or 4.

If the error has already occurred, restart the server to recover. This problem is fixed in System ROM version 1.90. Systems experiencing this problem should update the server System ROM to this version as soon as possible. To download the latest System ROM, perform the following steps: 1.Click the following link: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center . 2.Enter a product name (e.g., " DL30 Gen10 Plus") in the text search field and wait for a list of Suggested Products to display. From the Suggested Products list displayed, identify the desired product and select it. 3.The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page: -Select the Software Type "BIOS" -Select the Subtype "System ROM" -For further filtering if needed select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment Type. 4.Locate and select the System ROM 1.90 (or later). Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available.
