Info
After updating an HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 Controller to firmware version 6.22, Redfish events are not generated when Smart Storage cache and/or battery status changes occur in the system (e.g., Removal, Replace, Discharge, Offline or Failed Smart Storage, or Cache Ratio Changed).
For example:
StorageDevice.1.0.WriteCacheTemporarilyDegraded
StorageDevice.1.0.WriteCacheProtected
StorageDevice.1.1.BatteryMissing
StorageDevice.1.1.BatteryCharging
StorageDevice.1.1.BatteryOK
Scope
This issue affects HPE Synergy Gen10 or Gen10 Plus Compute Modules with the following controllers updated to firmware version 6.22:
HPE Smart Array P416ie-m SR Gen10 (8 Int 8 Ext Lanes/2GB Cache) 12G SAS Mezzanine Controller (804428-B21)
HPE Smart Array P416ie-m SR Gen10+ (8 Int 8 Ext Lanes/2GB Cache) 12G SAS Mezzanine Controller (P38721-B21)
HPE Smart Array P204i-c SR Gen10 (4 Internal Lanes/1GB Cache) 12G SAS Modular Controller (804424-B21)
HPE Smart Array P408i-c SR Gen10 (8 Internal Lanes/2GB Cache) 12G SAS Modular Controller (823856-B21)
Resolution
As a workaround, check for Cache and Battery-related events in the Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) GUI and CLI.
