When the Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) drive mode of the HPE Embedded Storage control is configured on any of the HPE ProLiant servers in the Hardware Affected version, the fan speed reaches 32% (or above).A sensor named "AHCI HD Max" that reports temperature readings of the drive in VROC mode controls the fan speed when Agentless Management Service (AMS) is running. There is an issue where the server does not show the AHCI HD MAX sensor after installation of AMS Versions 2.51.4.0 for Microsoft Windows on HPE platforms running Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC).
Any HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus server or ProLiant Gen11 server added in the Hardware Affected section below when the Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) mode of the HPE Embedded Storage control is configured, and HPE Agentless Management Service (AMS) Version 2.51.4.0 for Microsoft Windows was installed on HPE platforms.
To avoid the high fan speed, download theAgentless Management Service (AMS) for Microsoft Windows x64 Version 2.51.4.1(or later) along with the iLO 5 Channel Interface Driver. The "AHCI HD Max" sensor will report temperature readings of the drive in VROC mode and control the fan speed accordingly.Revision HistoryDocument VersionRelease DateDetails2November 25, 2025Updated to add the ProLiant DL320 Gen11 and ProLiant ML110 Gen11.1September 27, 2023Original Document Release.
