On any of the HPE Gen10 Plus, Gen11 or Gen12 servers mentioned in the Scope section below running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4 or SP6, and using the Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC), the correspondingmdadmgrow command will not function properly for Online Capacity Expansion (OCE) on OS RAID volume, as shown in the first picture below.When the mdadm command is executed, the RAID reshaping process (shown in the second picture below) is not initiated as expected.The expected result when the RAID reshape is initiated successfully is as follows:The migration result can be verified by checking the /proc/mdstat file.This issue does not occur on data RAID volume.
