The registration fails with an alert, and the message below is observed in the Data Services Cloud Console Issues panel.Storage System Registration FailedHPE Backup and Recovery Data Orchestrator: <Data Orchestrator name> failed to establish connection with the Primera storage system: <storage system name>. Ensure that the Data Orchestrator can reach the storage system to enable storage array optimized data protection and recovery features. This step can be skipped for data protection and recovery using VMware CBT.The registration fails if the HPE Primera storage system is configured with non-FIPS mode and HPE Primera OS version is 4.5.0.HPE Primera storage systems configured in non-FIPS mode, with OS version 4.5.0 and Backup and Recovery Service, is used for snapshots and array-optimized backup.
This issue affects HPE Primera 600 Storage systems, configured in non-FIPS mode, with OS version 4.5.0, when Backup and Recovery Service is used for snapshots and array-optimized backup.
This issue is resolved in HPE Primera OS version 4.5.3.As a workaround, enable FIPS mode when the HPE Primera OS version is 4.5.0.NOTE: FIPS mode can be enabled with non-FIPS drives in the system.FIPS mode can be enabled with either the CLI or the array GUI.
