With HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware v2.55 or iLO 5 firmware v2.60, under some conditions, iLO 5 may not retrieve Storage Information.
When this occurs, the following can be observed:
In the HPE iLO 5 web interface, under "System Information," clicking on the "Storage" tab displays the following:
No drives were found in this system. You may need to reboot the host
system to discover them." followed by "Failed to retrieve complete
storage
device information. Refresh the page in a few minutes."
Note
: A refresh does not display the storage information and neither does a reset of the server.
OR
When the iLO 5 RedFish REST API with Path '/redfish/v1/Systems/1/Storage/<item>/?$=expand.' is invoked, an HTTP Status Code of 501 is returned.
Scope
Any HPE system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) firmware v2.55 or v2.60.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, update to iLO 5 firmware v2.70 (or later).
As a workaround, to display the storage information, use another HPE tool; for example, HPE Smart Storage Administrator (HPE SSA).
To download the iLO 5 firmware v2.70 (or later), perform the following steps:

The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the iLO 5.
Locate and select the
HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v2.70 firmware
(or later).
Note: To ensure that you have selected the latest version of the firmware/driver, click the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware/driver is available.
