IMPORTANT: The firmware versions provided in the Resolution section are recommended to prevent the issues described below. HPE recommends performing the updates at the customer's earliest possible convenience. Neglecting to perform the recommended action and not performing the recommended resolution may result in the potential for subsequent errors to occur. For any HPE platforms configured with Solid State Drives (SSDs) listed in the Scope section below, when operating under heavy write workloads, the SSDs may experience device timeouts that lead to device resets. This issue may result in unacceptable latencies for certain applications and may cause platforms to become temporarily unresponsive, or experience unexpected application errors. Note: This issue has not been observed to cause an unexpected system reboot. When this issue occurs, the Operating System (OS) logs may report the events described above, and these messages will vary depending on the OS. The timeouts occur because SSD background activities are unable to proceed during heavy workload activity. The OS or the Smart Array controller may reset the affected SSD in an attempt to clear the perceived unresponsiveness. This will generally succeed; however, if the heavy workload continues, the timeout and reset events will reoccur.
