On any HPE ProLiant server or HPE Synergy Compute Module running VMware ESXi 6.5 or VMware ESXi 6.7, and configured with any of the HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 controllers with smartpqi driver v1.0.3.2035 listed in the Scope section below, the following alerts may be recorded in the vmkernel logs every time the server boots: ALERT: ERROR: smartpqi: pqisrc_process_config_table:431: unrecognized PQI config table section ID: 0x5 ALERT: ERROR: smartpqi: pqisrc_getSasPortAttributes:226: PortID : 0 ALERT: ERROR: smartpqi: pqisrc_getSasPortAttributes:251: Number of PHYs = 0x4 This issue occurs because the Online Firmware Activation feature is not supported by the current smartpqi driver for VMware.

The current smartpqi driver for VMware does not support this feature. This will be changed from "ERROR" to "NOTE" in a future driver release.
