In addition, one or more of the following system log entries may occur:smad: Failed: Timed out waiting for SNMP_HELLO responsehpilo 0000:01:00.2: Open could not dequeue a packethpilo 0000:01:00.2: Closing, but controller still activesmad: Failed: no available HP iLO channelssmad: Failed: Writing HPILO SNMP_HELLO errno =9hpilo 0000:01:00.2: Open could not dequeue a packethpilo 0000:01:00.2: Closing, but controller still activeThese issues are a result of an accumulation of ungraceful amsd shutdowns. These ungraceful shutdowns can result in HPE integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) losing track of the communication channels; therefore, a communication failure occurs with amsd. When amsd polls the failed communications channels, high CPU utilization occurs.
Any HPE system running Linux and amsd earlier than version 1.4.0.
High CPU utilization by amsd is resolved in amsd version 1.4.0 (or later).
