Info
The dedupe garbage collection dryrun statistics for "Unused CRCs" may experience an integer overflow, which will cause the count to display as a negative number. This will result in the dryrun statistics to be incorrect, which indicates that the
showvv
stats are incorrect.
The total space to be freed for the deduplication store (DDS), as well as the reserved and used size for the thin deduplication virtual volumes (TDVVs) can be incorrect and show unexpectedly large values.
Event log messages viewed by the
showeventlog -oneline
command may display the following messages:

Scope
Arrays running HPE 3PAR OS 3.2.2 or later using thin provisioned virtual volumes created while running HPE 3PAR OS 3.2.1 or 3.2.2 are affected by this issue.
Resolution
Migrate the virtual volumes using the DDS exhibiting this issue to a new CPG using dedupe, or convert the virtual volumes to thin provisioned virtual volumes (TPVVs).
For HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8000, 9000, or 20000 Storage, upgrade to HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1 MU2, and migrate all TDVVs to a newly-created CPG on 3.3.1-MU2. If the array is running HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1-MU2 using TDVVs created on 3.3.1-GA or later, this issue is less likely to be encountered.
NOTE:
Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.
