When the HPE failover driver version 1.0.9.2 is installed on a Microsoft Windows system attached to an HPE MSL3040 tape library, the LTO-6 control path failover functionality in the library will not work. The 1.0.9.2 version of the failover driver does not recognize the HPE MSL3040 as a supported device and does not notify the Microsoft Windows operating system to associate the MSL3040 with the failover driver. The operating system will not bind the failover driver to the MSL3040 tape library, and the normal Microsoft single path changer driver will be associated with the MSL3040 tape library. Full LTO-6 control path failover functionality will require a newer driver version.

Disable control path failover if a Windows host is using an LTO-6 tape drive to control the MSL3040 tape library. The Linux driver supports full control path failover functionality for the MSL3040 tape library, and a Linux host may be used to control the robot.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
