On any HPE System with the Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4), while performing offline updates, iLO Amplifier Pack returns a status as "Failed" with the following error messages:
Pending State timed-out
SUT Failed to Start
Staging Failed - Time-out occurred
Unable to register provider
Scope
Any HPE System with iLO 4.
Resolution
This occurs because the iLO NAND does not get automatically cleared. Use a manual method to clear the iLO NAND. Follow the steps below to force format the iLO NAND partitions.
Install HPQLOCFG on the local system and execute the Force Format RIBCL XML script (Force_Format.xml) by using the procedure below:
Open a command prompt, change the location to the folder where HPQLOCFG tool is installed and issue the command below:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett Packard Enterprise\HP Lights-Out
Configuration Utility>HPQLOCFG.exe -s <IP Address: Remote or local iLO>
-u<Username> -p<Password> -f< Force_Format.xml directory>
Example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett Packard Enterprise\HP Lights-Out
Configuration Utility>HPQLOCFG.exe HPQLOCFG.exe -s 10.10.1.1 -u
Administrator -p Password -f
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\Force_Format.xml
iLO reboots to apply the changes after the script has completed successfully.
Reboot the server after the iLO reboot completes successfully.
NOTE: After running the Force_Format RIBCL XML script, wait 2-3 minutes for the iLO to reboot and the NAND partitions to be recreated.

: There will be an entry in the iLO Event Log displaying the following message:
Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: One or more storage devices have been formatted
