An issue has been identified on HPE StoreOnce Backup Systems where, after upgrading to software version 3.15.1 or later, the Catalyst Over Fibre Channel (CoFC) WWNN and WWPN values may change and access to fibre channel devices is lost.
This issue will only occur if the default values for any of the following HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Fibre Channel settings are changed, prior to upgrading from software version 3.13.x to version 3.15.1 or later:
Port Speed
Topology
Number of devices per Appliance
Here is an example of the issue where the HPE StoreOnce GUI shows that the Port Speed has been changed from default to 4Gb/s. This will cause the CoFC WWNN and WWPN values to change after upgrading to software version 3.15.1 or later, and the FC devices will not be accessible:

This issue affects the following HPE StoreOnce systems being upgraded from software version 3.13.x to version 3.15.1 or later:

BB897A HPE StoreOnce 6500 120TB Couplet
BB910A HPE StoreOnce 2900 Backup
BB903A HPE StoreOnce 4900 Backup
BB877A HPE StoreOnce 2700 8TB Backup
BB878A HPE StoreOnce 4500 24TB Backup
BB879A HPE StoreOnce 4700 24TB Backup
Resolution
This issue is resolved in HPE StoreOnce software version 3.16.2 available on 27 March 2017 for systems using
N_Port
FC topology, and will be resolved in the next software version 3.16.x release for systems configured in
loop
mode.
Workaround
Until this issue is resolved, re-zoning the Fibre Channel network will correct this issue.
Alternately, contact HPE Support for assistance with restoring the original WWNN and WWPN values.
