If a BIG-IP system is configured to use remote roles, users authorized solely through remote roles cannot use iControl REST.
Users using remote roles cannot use iControl REST.
Remote authentication is configured and remote roles are used.
Add a user to the BIG-IP system and assign the desired role. This causes a local account to be created with no password and authenticated through the remote authentication server.
Remotely authenticated users can now use iControl REST.
