Symptoms

The following log messages occur in BIG-IP VE devices after upgrading to version 15.1.6.1: warning mcpsync[3292]: tm_install::TMOS::TMOS_binary: cannot find program: smartctl warning mcpsync[3292]: tm_install::TMOS::TMOS_binary: cannot find program: smartctl /usr/sbin/smartctl

Impact

Warnings are logged. When the warnings occur on BIG-IP Virtual Edition, they are benign and can be ignored.

Conditions

Upgrade VE/VCMP devices from older version to 15.1.6 or higher versions.
