NFSv4 share is mounted on the Linux server, but nothing shows up in the Avamar GUI when browsing the Linux client. Linux admin verified that the share is correctly mounted on the Linux server:Note: "/mnt/ORBSHARE" is the test share on this lab and will not be the same on the customer's environment. Adjust the path according to the customer's environment respectively.[root@xxx~]# df -hFilesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted ondevtmpfs 5.8G 0 5.8G 0% /devtmpfs 5.8G 0 5.8G 0% /dev/shmtmpfs 5.8G 26M 5.8G 1% /runtmpfs 5.8G 0 5.8G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup/dev/sda2 47G 24G 24G 51% //dev/sda5 44G 241M 43G 1% /home/dev/sda1 950M 228M 723M 24% /boottmpfs 1.2G 12K 1.2G 1% /run/user/42tmpfs 1.2G 0 1.2G 0% /run/user/1000x.x.x.x:/data/col1/orb 70G 48G 22G 69% /mnt/ORBSHAREtmpfs 1.2G 0 1.2G 0% /run/user/0[root@xxx~]# cat /proc/mounts |grep -i nfs4x.x.x.x:/data/col1/orb /mnt/ORBSHARE nfs4 rw,relatime,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=10..xxx.xxx.xx,local_lock=none,addr=x.x.x.x 0 0NOTE: The "mountstats" command may not exist on the Linux server depending on the distro and version:[root@xxx~]# mountstatsStats for x.x.x.x:/data/col1/orb mounted on /mnt/ORBSHARE: NFS mount options: rw,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,acregmin=3,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=10.xxx.xxx.xx,local_lock=none NFS server capabilities: caps=0xffd7,wtmult=512,dtsize=32768,bsize=0,namlen=255 NFSv4 capability flags: bm0=0xffffffff,bm1=0xfdfffe,bm2=0x0,acl=0x0,pnfs=notconfigured NFS security flavor: 1 pseudoflavor: 0--- more output omitted ---
Avtar is unable to natively browse the NFSv4 mount point on the Linux server without enabling avtar flags for NFSv4 on the avagent.cmd and avtar.cmd command files.
Need to create the avagent.cmd and avtar.cmd files under the "var" directory under the Avamar installation directory. In this scenario, the Linux OS used in the lab is CentOS 7.Default var path for Linux, AIX:/usr/local/avamar/var/Default var path for HP-UX, Solaris:/opt/AVMRclnt/var/Create and add the avtar flags to command files:vi /usr/local/avamar/var/avagent.cmdType "i" for insert--browse-nfs--forcefs=nfs4Save and exitEsc + :wq!vi /usr/local/avamar/var/avtar.cmd--forcefs=nfs4Restart avagent:service avagent stop/startor service avagent restartGo to Avamar GUI and refresh. Then browse the Linux client's filesystem and navigate to the mount point.
