A warning message is logged in the Lifecycle Controller logs: SRV016 : Unable to export Storage Controller Log information for controller xxxxx because the export did not complete within the allocated time. Dell SupportAssist log collection may take nearly an hour to finish.
The issue is caused by running drive checks that should be skipped when collecting storage TTY logs. These unnecessary checks prevent the export of Storage Controller Log information within the allocated time. Note: The issue occurs on iDRAC10 firmware versions 1.30.50.Xx and is addressed an upcoming firmware release (expected September 2026).
Procedure: Reboot the iDRAC. Caution: Ensure that no active sessions are using the iDRAC before reboot. Run the Dell SupportAssist log collection again. The first invocation after the reboot should succeed. If the issue recurs, clear the Storage Logs option during the Dell SupportAssist log collection. Plan to update iDRAC firmware to an upcoming version which contains a fix for this issue (expected release is in September 2026). Note: Dell engineering is aware of the issue and planning to provide a firmware fix in an upcoming release.
