The NetWorker Management Console (NMC) server's GST service does not start following the NetWorker 19.14 upgrade. The following pop-up message is displayed: The GST service remains stopped. NMC is inaccessible.
The OpenSSL libraries installed in C:\Windows\System32 are different from the versions bundled with NetWorker. During startup, gstd.exe loads the operating system's OpenSSL DLLs instead of the NetWorker-supplied versions, resulting in a missing entry point and service startup failure. Affected DLLs: C:\Windows\System32\libcrypto-3-x64.dllC:\Windows\System32\libssl-3-x64.dll
On the NMC server, open Windows File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32Rename the following files: WARNING: Renaming DLLs in C:\Windows\System32 may impact other applications that depend on these libraries. Evaluate the impact and follow applicable change-control procedures before proceeding. libcrypto-3-x64.dlllibssl-3-x64.dll Example: libcrypto-3-x64.dll.oldlibssl-3-x64.dll.old Start the GST service from services.msc, or elevated command prompt: net start gstd After renaming the conflicting OpenSSL DLLs in C:\Windows\System32, the GST service starts successfully and uses the OpenSSL libraries packaged with NetWorker.
