This alert is generated during PowerStore recovery when an NDU upgrade is in-progress and a hotfix existed in the old OS version. The hotfix cannot be applied because the software slot is occupied by the prestaged OS upgrade package. The system runs without the hotfix on the recovered node until the alert is resolved. Alert IDPLATFORM_SYSTEM_REIMAGE_DONE_HOTFIX_NDU_PENDINGAlert TextHotfix could not be applied during node %(which) (primary OS) reimage because a software upgrade is in-progress.Error Code0x00400305
This alert is triggered when three conditions are met simultaneously: recovery is completing (svc_repair or automatic recovery), an NDU is in-progress, and a hotfix existed in the old/from OS version. Due to the in-progress upgrade, the OS upgrade package is prestaged so the upgrade can be restarted or rolled back. The hotfix cannot be applied since applying it uses the same software slot as the in-progress OS upgrade.
If the NDU completes successfully, the alert clears automatically and no further action is needed. The hotfix does not have to be applied since it only applies to the old/from version of the OS.If the NDU is rolled back, the hotfix must be re-applied. Go to the upgrade page in PowerStore Manager and re-apply the hotfix. After the hotfix is successfully re-applied, the alert clears automatically. If the NDU cannot be completed or rolled back successfully, contact Dell Technical Support for assistance.
