Sometimes jobs fail with a quota error when a storage unit is configured with a soft or hard quota, but the quota is not reached yet. Job Status error reported in UI: status='Hard Quota Exceeded'
A soft quota may be temporarily exceeded when the data is initially written to the Data Domain without affecting the backup job. After deduplication and compression, the data shrinks. It may seem that a quota error was spuriously reported. Deduplication and compression can bring the size back down below the quota after an error was reported. Exceeding a hard quota would cause a job to fail.
Remove or increase the quota. If the hard quota is breached, the job fails and the quota must be increased or removed. Change Soft Capacity Quota and Hard Capacity Quota settings in the UI: From the UI, under Infrastructure > Storage Select the Data Domain machine by selecting the checkbox to the left of the Data Domain name. Select More Actions . Select Manage Storage Units . Select the checkbox for the appropriate storage unit. Select Edit . Change the quota values or remove the values. Click Save .
