By default the Dell Automation Platform 1.0 orchestrator external vCenter connection is sized for a small vCenter as defined by Broadcom (Hardware Requirements for the vCenter Appliance.) If you are using a larger vCenter, then it is possible that the external connection may not connect correctly.
By default the Dell Automation Platform 1.0 orchestrator external vCenter connection is sized for a small vCenter.
It is possible to increase the resources for the relevant service for the orchestrator, depending on the size of your vCenter. To determine the sizing of the vCenter, SSH into the vCenter appliance: cat /etc/vmware/deployment.size (vCenter 6.x, 7.x, 8.x) If this returns a value higher than small, then additional configuration may need to be carried out on the orchestrator. Edit the deployment hzp-inventory-svc.kubectl edit deployment hzp-inventory-svc Search for the term resources.By default the resource limit is set to the following: resources: limits: cpu: 200m memory: 500Mi Dell Automation Platform Engineering, recommend a stepped approach to changing the CPU and Memory limits for the hzp-inventory-svc deployment. The initial increase is to cpu: 400m and memory: 700Mi.If the vCenter requires a larger amount of resources, then the next recommendation is to cpu: 1000m and memory: 700Mi.If further resources are required for the vCenter, then up to cpu: 1500m and memory: 2Gi is validated by Dell Automation Platform Engineering.
