Upgrade precheck fails with the following error message: " DellPTA Agent not running. Multiple restart failed." Upgrade cannot proceed. Affected Products Model: DD3300 Software Version: DDOS 7.10 and later
The DellPTAgent or the Integrated System Management (iSM) service is not running or has failed to start on the ESXi host. This prevents the upgrade precheck from completing successfully.
Follow the steps detailed in the article: Data Domain: DD3300 6900 9400 9900 Platform Flea Drain BMC Reset Procedure This allows the DD3300 unit to restart the underlying services ( PTAgent and ISM) Once completed, retry the upgrade precheck. If the underlying services do not recover, contact Dell Support to manually restart or reinstall the services (reference this article # 000381511)
