Configuring ESRS or SCG failed with this error and is not able to configure using both customer's and support TSEs credentials. Error: Failed to register device to : Invalid username and/or password
Recently Dell retired this authentication process on the backend, it has been switched to the Access Key and PIN-based authentication. If the customer is still on DDOS code that uses SRS, the username is the "Access key" and the password is the "PIN" in the registration steps.
Note: Data Domain HA systems can not be configured for SRS with connectemc with an Access Key and PIN. System must be upgraded to DDOS 8.3.1.0, 7.13.1.40 or later to use ESE SupportAssist configuration. For single node DDs, to resolve this issue, users must generate an Access Key and create a PIN by following the below steps: Search DD serial number in the Dell support site, and then click "Generate Access Key" If there is no existing access key, then click next Enter a 4-digit PIN (must save it for future reference), and click "create my access key," then it sends the access key to your email KB article to Generate an Access Key: Generate Access Key and PIN for Dell Products Register SCG Gateway on DD: #support connectemc device register <IP.of.DD.sys> esrs-gateway <YOUR_ESRSGW_hostname> Username: Access Key Password: PIN Example: SE@dd9800## support connectemc device register 10.144.155.134 esrs-gateway odc3-isl-esrs Enter Dell EMC Support username: <Access Key> Enter Dell EMC Support password: <PIN>Device registered to ESRS gateway odc3-isl-esrs. #support connectemc config show Example: sysadmin@dd9800# support connectemc config show ConnectEMC Configuration: ESRS gateway IP/hostname: 10.82.26.240 Registered device IP(s): 10.144.155.134 #support notification method show Example: sysadmin@dd9800# support notification method show Notification method is set to "connectemc". #support notification method set connectemc Example: sysadmin@dd9800## support notification method set connectemc Support notification method set to "connectemc". #support connectemc test Example: sysadmin@dd9800# support connectemc test Sending test message through Secure Connect Gateway...
