Isilon On-Cluster Analysis is reporting output similar to the following: FAIL: Node 1 Bay 2 status is SMARTFAIL FAIL: Node 1 Lnum 2 status is SMARTFAIL
Drives may trigger a "FAIL" on IOCA for various reasons.
Node 1 Bay 2 status is SMARTFAIL Node 1 Lnum 2 status is SMARTFAIL A device is being Smart Failed to protect the data stored on the device. No updates should be performed while any device is in a SMARTFAIL status or running a FlexProtect job. Node 1 Bay 2 status is NEW A device in a NEW state indicates that it has been replaced and is ready to be formatted and added into the Isilon cluster. Node 1 Bay 2 status is WRONG_TYPE The device at the reported location does not match the expected device type. Engage Isilon support for review. Node 1 Bay 2 status is REPLACE Node 1 Bay 2 status is ERASE Node 1 Bay 2 status is EMPTY A device has previously failed and is now ready to be replaced. Devices in these states would not have any impact on upgrades. Node 1 Bay 2 status is STALLED A drive stall was detected. This typically occurs when a drive is under heavy IO or has a firmware update performed. It may be safely ignored unless repeat occurrences are seen.
