Symptoms

The following note appears in the Data Domain web interface under Data Management > File System > DD Encryption: Physical sizes will be calculated at the next file system clean. Note ** For these keys, key-manager server state and local system state are different. A filesystem restart is necessary to synchronize these two states.

Cause

This message is always displayed regardless of the key states.

Resolution

This note only applies to fields and keys with a ** designation. For example, two common key states with the designation: **Pending-Activated **Activated-RW A file system restart may be necessary. If no fields exist with a ** designation, such as 'Activated-RW', then the note does not apply.
