A rare issue exists with Delta power supplies (PSU) that causes a PSU mismatch. This issue is only experienced after multiple AC power cycles in rapid succession. Dell Engineering has encountered the issue only after 65 or more rapid AC cycles. This issue is experienced with Virtual AC (vAC) cycles or with manual power removal and reapplication. When the issue is encountered, the Lifecycle Controller (LC) logs a UEFI0059 event stating that Power Supply Units (PSUs) in the system do not match. Figure 1: The same event is also encountered during the Power On Self-Test (POST). Figure 2: Note: The PSU mismatch can be remediated by removing power from the power supplies and reapplying power.
A timing issue during AC power cycle causes the PSU information to be missing in iDRAC UI.
This issue is resolved with Power Supply firmware updates. Note: If a PSU is in a mismatch state, removing power and reapplying power brings the PSUs back into a matched state. Once remediated, update PSU firmware in line with the following information. The following chart lists the Dell Part Numbers (DPN) and Firmware Version required to resolve this issue. Vendor Wattage DPN Firmware Version Delta 3200W J0KHH AE46 1500W GRD17 AE31 1100W KMJFC AE35 1100W 49FWD AE2C 800W 8YNWG AE29 800W R98X5 AE2E The above firmware versions are available on each system model’s download page from the Dell Support site.
