Affected Platforms: Precision 7960 Tower This 20 Amp power cable has a specific type of power cable (for 125 V ac in the United States) that has a different male connector. This male power connector plug has the hot connector turned ninety degrees (horizontally) and requires a dedicated 20 Amp AC circuit for the 2200w power draw. The AC power plug cannot be connected to a standard AC power outlet.
This is working as designed. The high-power requirement of this computer requires a dedicated 20 Amp power circuit with the appropriate 20 Amp outlet.
A 20 Amp outlet is required to power the computer.
