Reboot the ESXi server, even while in maintenance mode. Replication may get stuck at 0% and a full sweep may result from an ESXi reboot, even while in maintenance mode. From the CLI logs or UI events: Time: Mon Jan 18 14:21:11 2016 Topic: GROUP Scope: NORMAL Level: WARNING Event ID: 4082 Cluster: RPCLUSTER1 Global links: None RPA: RPA x Groups: [CG1, Copy1] Links: [CG1, Copy1->Copy2] Summary: The dirtying action took place either due to a user action (e.g. group was enabled or journal volumes changed) or due to a system fatal error. There will be only one full sweep on this link in the next synchronization, regardless of the number of times the link's copies are marked as dirty until the synchronization starts. More information: The copy marked all of its replication volumes as dirty. The splitter uses the /scratch folder on the ESXi host for persistent information. The default scratch folder resides on /tmp/scratch . /tmp is a volatile space that gets cleared on each ESXi reboot. The PSM for the splitter then gets cleared and all volumes attached to this splitter go through a sweep.
Resolution: RecoverPoint for VMs splitter installation requires that /scratch is set to persistent storage. A persistent scratch location on the ESXi host is required for storing splitter configuration information. Beginning with RecoverPoint for VMs Release 5.0, the scratch location (/scratch/log) requires at least 50 MB of free storage space on a permanently available persistent storage device.
