When attempting to assign a DHCP address to the BCM5720 with driver version 230.1.116.0, the address assignment fails. This issue occurs while using Windows Server 2025 and a CPU with more than 256 cores. Therefore, the server defaults to an Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) address.
The current Broadcom NetXtreme driver was not designed to support a large processor group beyond 256 cores.
Update to the latest driver to address this issue. Broadcom driver 231.1.162.1 enables the RSS code to look beyond a linear CPU index of 256, allowing the utilization of larger CPU counts.
