Installation of RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines 5.3.SP4.P1 or 6.0.SP1.P1 and later may show errors during the initial version requirement steps. For example, error: Failed to calculate management procedures: The Upgrade Change Management (CCA) XML file is invalid. Please contact Customer Support. Sometimes the installation process may stop responding in Downloading Version Requirements step:
Dell Technologies is updating the Change Management server. The old server was https://rplicense.emc.com/download/ The new files are on the Dell RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines Product Page . However, when using the new mechanism, the address of the files may change from the address the RecoverPoint Appliance (RPA) is aware of.
Workaround 1: Download the latest updated XML files from the Dell RecoverPoint Driver Download Page Select Provide version requirements file manually Workaround 2: Change the address that the RecoverPoint Appliance (RPA) uses on the RPA that is running the Web Deployer (WDM). Use the links from Dell RecoverPoint Driver Download Page PuTTY or SSH in to the RPA IP address (same address used for the deployer) Select [ 2 ] Setup [ 8 ] Advanced options [ 3 ] Appliance config params [ 3 ] Change appliance config param value Enter tweak_param name: t_cca_url Enter tweak_param value (Default 'https://dl.dell.com/downloads/VNY65_RecoverPoint-and-RecoverPoint-for-Virtual-Machines-Change-Control-XML.xml'): https://dl.dell.com/downloads/R2W01_a-cca.xml For upgrades, the Version Catalog XML file may also need an update. PuTTY or SSH in to the RPA IP address (same address used for the deployer) Select [ 2 ] Setup [ 8 ] Advanced options [ 3 ] Appliance config params [ 3 ] Change appliance config param value Enter tweak_param name: t_catalog_url Enter tweak_param value (Default 'https://dl.dell.com/downloads/VNY65_RecoverPoint-and-RecoverPoint-for-Virtual-Machines-Change-Control-XML.xml'): https://dl.dell.com/downloads/0TXFT_RECOVERPOINT.DEPLOYMENT.EN_US.PRODUCTION.xml Once the tweaks are applied, reboot the RPA and try to install again. Resolution: RecoverPoint 6.0 SP3 and later resolves this issue. Installations or upgrades from 6.0 SP3 no longer attempt to download the file automatically. The process asks the user to download the file from Dell RecoverPoint Driver Download Page .
