Symptoms

The following message displays when attempting to join the NAS Server to an Active Directory domain using Domain admin privileges. The job parameters contain one or more backtick characters which is not allowed. (Error Code: 0x7d1316a)

Cause

An error occurs when the Domain admin user's password contains backticks characters. A mechanism was added to suppress acceptance of backtick characters to prevent potential security issues.

Resolution

When joining the NAS Server to an Active Directory domain, use a user whose password does not contain backtick characters.
