Using the Dell Webcam WB3023 you might observe a lens flare in images captured where the light source is angled in a 30°~35° or 35°~40° range. This effect is more noticeable in dark backgrounds.
The aperture stop of the lens unit is round, making the light incident angle changed in an unexpected way. This causes a lens flare to occur.
To avoid the lens flare in the captured images follow up below actions: Take a light source 40 cm away from the camera. If the light source is coming from the ceiling or sunlight, pan or tilt the camera 5~7 degrees away from the light.
