VMs are selected in a NetWorker VMware Protection Group that is assigned to a workflow. The backup process appears to ignore these VMs, but there is no error message, they appear to be skipped. The VMs are on a stand-alone ESXi host (no vCenter server)
VMs have the same Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) as another VM selected in the group: As the name implies, the UUID must be unique. UUIDs are assigned in VMware, this issue has occurred in the VMware environment. This may occur if a VM is cloned or converted from a template. When NetWorker backs up a VM, it is stored in the mm as vCenter_name:vm:VM_UUID:vCenter_name For example: # mminfo -aS -q ssid=2102060874 ssid=2102060874 savetime=03/11/2021 11:00:10 PM (1615521610) vcsa.amer.lan:vm:50290c5c-2aa4-a1c8-bd43-4dcb1fb795d5:vcsa.amer.lan ...
This issue must be addressed in the VMware environment.Workaround: Power off the VM with the duplicate UUID.Create a new VM in VMware with the same hardware configuration. Creating a new VM assigns it a new unique UUIDUnmount the disks from the VM with the duplicate UUID and mount them to the new VMPower on the new VM. Add the newly created VM to the VMware protection group in NetWorker.
