When a user installs DCNM (typically later versions such as 6.x 7.x), the install fails with a Fatal Application Error message. The error shows: Fatal Application Error This Application has Unexpectedly Quit. Invocation of this Java Application has caused an Invocation TargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX) And a "Details" window with drop-down expansion is viewable, which usually shows misc " Flexeraaxx " errors or " Windows DLL " errors. Examples of possible contents are below: Details... This is usually an installer issue [Install Anywhere] using a prepackaged incorrect java version, or with that version of the installer and the Windows version.
The Installer must run the install in Compatibility Mode. Right click the installer file.... select: -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Compatibility Mode -> Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for < which Windows version >" Install should run fine now.
