Symptom

Multiple ASIC reset due to memory errors, leading to LC or FC going in shutdown state. Below is a sample of ASIC parity error log - Sample from LC: npu_drvr[301]: %FABRIC-NPU_DRVR-3-ASIC_ERROR_ACTION : [6645] : npu[1]: PON_RESET needed for slice[2].npu.rxpp_fwd.npe[0].thread_memory Sample from FC: npu_drvr[301]: %FABRIC-NPU_DRVR-3-ASIC_ERROR_ACTION : [6645] : npu[15]: HARD_RESET needed for slice[4].npu.rxpp_term.fi_eng[5].fi_engine_partial_header The above are samples and the error can be seen on any ASIC memory

Conditions

Standard traffic upgrade to impacted software release XR 24.2.203 or 24.2.204 This issue is applicable to only Cisco-8000 Q200 based boards

Workaround

workaround none; recovery is triggered by XR to reset the ASIC and subsequently reload of the LC/FC card
