WLC 9800 migth reboot unexpectedly due to a NMSP (Network Mobility Service Protocol) process failure in handling TLS connection closure. Reload reason indicates: "Critical process nmspd fault on rp_0_0" and an nmspd core file is generated and stored in the system report bundle. Device showed the following error messages prior to crash: %NMSP_SYSLOG-5-NMSP_SSL_NOTICE: Chassis 1 R0/0: nmspd: nmspd TLS notice [TLS local: x.x.x.x remote: x.x.x.x] closing CMX connection over TLS protocol
Frequent drops of the NMSP connection between Catalyst 9800 WLC and Cisco Spaces Connector/CMX
Remove the controller from CMX/Cisco Spaces if the connection is unstable. > If location services are not being used, then disabling location allows CMX/Cisco Spaces to remain connected to the controller while avoiding the reboot.
