Symptom

Interface can be stuck in Down state while controller is Up (though showing Yellow alarm): RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ana01ahvlncdg#sh controllers TenGigE0/0/0/21 Operational state: Down (Reason: Link loss or low light, no loopback) RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ana01wlwdfl09#show controller optics 0/0/0/21? Controller State: Up ? Transport Admin State: In Service ? Laser State: On ? LED State: Yellow ? Optics Status ? Optics Type: SFP+ 10G ZR? Wavelength = 1554.13 nm

Conditions

Optics can be any, controller State showing Up and Internal Loopback is Up It is specific to Marvell PHY, where serdes went into bad state and this will monitor the particular conditions and trigger the recovery.

Workaround

In case of port-down state and symptoms are same from Marvell PHY pov. Input the below command in attach mode to recover the port. 1. RP/0/RP0/CPU0:NCS-540-D#attach location 0/0/CPU0 2. #mv88ec808_dbg_client -F set-mode -p ---> This needs to be changed accordingly (e.g. mv88ec808_dbg_client -F set-mode -i 1 -p 1) 3. #exit
