Once link is flapped, it remains in Link not connected state. Although we are receiving proper signal from other side and Good-2-bad and bad-2-good interrupts are getting generated, those are not getting asserted.
Interrupt 5 of a component is not working as expected.
attach mod 1 module 1 # test hardware internal mtc-usd gpe 5 disable module 1 #test hardware internal mtc-usd gpe 5 enable
During peer shut/no shut or peer reload, it was observed that even though the GPE 5 (responsible for link up/down interrupt) was enabled, interrupts were not getting delivered to usd. Explicitly disabling & enabling the GPE again resolved the issue. There is no explicit way of knowing that this problem has occurred except for the link not coming up. Hence, the fix was provided to periodically disable/enable back GPE again so that, even though we run into this issue, the issue will get recovered when this timer triggers. In fixed version, you need to run the below command to enable the fix: hardware profile gpe-5-timer enable†
