If the PPPoE server is ONLY configured with MS-CHAPv2 protocol, the ASA/FTD acting as PPPoE client cannot establish a point-to-point connection. This is because ASA/FTD supports PAP, CHAP, or MSCHAP and rejects requests from server for any other protocol.
ASA/FTD(any version running) with PPPoE configured interfaces.
The PPPoE server needs to include the supported protocols on ASA/FTD which are PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP
