Flex AP in standalone mode loses static IP address. Steps: 1) AP in flex-local switching , local auth, local dhcp & static ipv4 , serving wireless clients without any issue. 2) Brought down controller link between AP and c9800 3) AP moves to standalone mode, serving client without any issue 4) After 10 mins or so , AP loses static IP address
Flex AP in standalone mode.
Put a local DHCP server in the branch so that stranded AP will get new IP address.
This is a change in AP behavior. Without this fix, AP which lost connectivity with WLC will lose its static/DHCP IP address and try to get new IP address via DHCP. With this fix (for IOS-XE and AireOS 8.10MR8), AP with static IP address will not try to get IP address via DHCP even though the AP lost connectivity with WLC.
