Symptom
Upgrading a Nexus platform from a 9.3(4) or earlier image to a 10.3 image will fail with the following error message:
N9K# install all nxos bootflash:nxos64-cs.10.3.2.F.bin
Installer will perform compatibility check first. Please wait.
Installer is forced disruptive
"Failed to process nxos image".
Pre-upgrade check failed. Return code 0x404F0003 (SRG file not present/some modules are not supported in target image).
Setting the boot variable will fail as well.
N9K(config)# boot nxos bootflash:nxos64-cs.10.3.2.F.bin
Performing image verification and compatibility check, please wait....
Image provided does not exist.
Failed to set the boot variable: image not found (0x40450008)
Conditions
This is only applicable to Cloud Scale platforms supported on nxos64-cs.10.3.2.F.bin or any nxos images greater than 2G in size.
Workaround
Intermediate upgrade to 9.3(10) and later images.
