After performing a bunch of ACL/ACE delete and add operation without performing "copy running-config startup-config" and then executing "show startup-config" results in aclmgr crash. switch# sh core VDC Module Instance Process-name PID Date(Year-Month-Day Time) --- ------ -------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- 1 5 1 aclmgr 27479 2021-03-29 07:41:39 1 5 1 aclmgr 9967 2021-03-29 07:41:41 ----- reset reason for module 5 (from Supervisor in slot 5) --- 1) At 225819 usecs after Mon Mar 29 07:36:15 2021 Reason: Reset triggered due to HA policy of Reset Service: aclmgr hap reset Version: 8.2(4)
1. Addition and deletion of ACL's with a huge no of ACE's frequently. 2. No "copy running-config startup-config" done after Step #1 is done. 3. Executing "show startup-config" after these ACL manipulations.
Following command can be used instead of "show startup-config": show system internal file /var/sysmgr/startup-cfg/ascii/system.cfg Else, save the configuration with "copy running-config startup-config" after ACL manipulations are done and before executing "show startup-config".
Another problem fixed in CSCvy00853 Symptom: ACL is removed from interface in show startup-config without saving configuration. Trigger: ACL is removed from interface or overwritten by another ACL in running-config. This is a cosmetic issue and there is no functionality impact. The content of the last saved startup-config can be seen using following command: show system internal file /var/sysmgr/startup-cfg/ascii/system.cfg
