When configuring N9K-93180YC-FX for FC/FCoE in SAN switching mode, switch fails to pull correct licenses from the smart licensing portal and permit FC/FCoE. May see the following error message Insufficient Licenses - The virtual account "Nexus9k Storage Licenses" has a shortage of SAN License for 48 ports FC and FCoE licenses. 2 licenses are required to return to compliance.
N9K-93180YC-FX NX-OS version before 9.3(6) Smart licensing enabled ACI-STRG license is available, but not used to license FC/FCoE with N9K in SAN Switching mode (not fcoe-npv mode).
Convert switch to traditional licensing and install traditional licenses according to steps in the licensing guide https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/nx-os/licensing/guide/b_Cisco_NX-OS_Licensing_Guide/m-smart-licensing-for-cisco-nexus-3000-and-9000-series-switches.html
After upgrading to fixed version, customer may have to remove/reconfigure smart licensing on the switch and re-register the device on the Smart Licensing Portal to acquire the correct license.
Smart License portal correctly assigns licensing from ACI-STRG pak in smart licensing.
