After switch reload, pings to a directly connected switch would fail for MTU greater than 1500.
Switch is configured with non-default MTU value.(i.e) Has value greater than 1500 as system MTU. Pings would work fine until a reload is performed which triggers this issue.
Changing the MTU to a value different than the current configured value would resolve the issue.
FCS Errors increment on directly connected switch when doing a ping with MTU size > 1500. This concludes that switches are dropping ICMP requests of MTU greater than 1500 as FCS error packets. This happens only if the remote switch is 9500H switch.
