The 9800 WLCs are not marking VLANs dirty in a VLAN group despite clients not receiving addressing.
In normal working conditions, if a client is placed in a VLAN and does not get an address, the VLAN should be marked dirty and the client moved to another VLAN. Currently clients are placed in a VLAN and when they do not get addressed, they stay in the IP_LEARN state on the WLC and the VLAN is not marked dirty.
There are currently no workarounds for this behavior.
The issue only occurs in an instance in which a client is unable to receive addressing in the VLAN. As long as addressing is working, clients will continue to be placed in the respective VLANs with no issue.
