Symptom

VXLAN-EVPN Type 2 MAC only route may not trigger NVE peer Add This can lead to BUM traffic not forwarded (rather dropped) as VTEP is not in whitelist of known peers.

Conditions

Observed with N9k switches running release 9.3(1) and 9.3(2) VXLAN EVPN setup

Workaround

Create L3VNI and add associated VRF/SVI/BGP/NVE configuration for the same Or Configure different RDs on all EVPN fabric routers.
