Symptom
After upgrade to NX-OS 9.x release tokens in the MOTD banner stop working. For example:
hostname N9K-PX
banner motd !The hostname is: $(hostname).!
In versions before 9.x code:
The hostname is: N9K-PX.
In versions from 9.x code:
The hostname is: \n.
Conditions
N9K switch running 9.x releases.
Workaround
No workaround has been found at this time.
Further Problem Description
Additionally $(line) and $(hostname) don't work either, there also appears to be a regression in releases after 9.3(3) e.g. 9.3(5) where none of these tokens work anymore. Development is aware and is looking into this issue.
