Symptom
N3K & N9K do not support Jumbo MTU on the Management interface on the affected NX-OS releases.
When the management interface of a Nexus switch is configured with IPv6, a log may be displayed if the device receives a Jumbo packet similar to the following:
2020 Sep 8 17:23:14.285 %ICMPV6-3-ND_LOG: icmpv6 [26836] Inconsistent RA MTU 9178 on mgmt0, ours is: 1500, from fe80::7a0c:f0ff:fe1c:8041
Conditions
IPv6 is configured on the Mgmt interface and a Jumbo packet is received.
Workaround
Do either of the following:
1) Upgrade the Nexus switch to a release that supports Jumbo MTU on the Management interface
2) Use the 'ipv6 nd suppress-ra mtu' interface configuration command so that the Nexus switch ignores ICMP RA MTU advertisements and the log will not be displayed.
